Fall is in full swing in Spokane! It is our favorite time of year. We have been very busy with soccer and football. Both Curtis and Casey had a great time playing. Caden had a great time dressing in the appropriate "uniform" for whichever game we were going to. He finally started wearing his soccer shirt, shorts, tall socks, and football helmet. That way he was covered, no matter what the sport.
For Halloween we had 2 Redskins players, Batman, and Darth Dew. It was pretty cold, so we only went down one street. Casey was disappointed to find that his Jack-o'lantern had been pumpkin-napped while we were gone. His remains were found in the street the next morning.
We were able to go out to Greenbluff for the Apple Festival a few weeks ago. The kids and their friends had fun in a huge corn maze and pumpkin patch. We made scarecrows and picked apples galore.
Casey lost his first tooth! He has been waiting for this to happen for a long time. The tooth fairy visited, and he came upstairs the next morning and asked if parents were really the tooth fairy. He said that a fairy that collected teeth just didn't make sense to him. I told him that he had guessed the secret, but not to tell anyone...especially Curtis. He thinks that Curtis believes in the Tooth Fairy, and he is so pleased with himself that he can keep this secret!
Curtis is running for Student Body President tomorrow. He was one of the top 4 candidates from the primary election, and he has had fun campaigning over the past week. He will give his speech in the morning at the school's Veteran's Day /Election Assembly. It has been a great experience for him to run and we are proud of all the effort he has put into it.
